Benefits of Sprouted Seeds
You may have come across sprouted seeds, but what is so amazing about them?%Sprouts are one of the most alkalising and nutritious foods known to man. A sprout possesses all of the energy, vitamins, nutrients and power that enables it to be transformed from a small seed into a strong plant. At this stage its nutritional value is at its highest.

For example, alfalfa sprouts (alfalfa meaning 'father of all foods') are rich in vitamins including vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E and K. They are also especially rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus and potassium, all in easily digestible forms AND are 35% protein! They are also a natural source of fluoride, fibre, antioxidants (such as chlorophyll), and phytonutrients.

You can buy sprouted seeds in supermarkets, or you can sprout easily at home. For those with busy lives, sprouting kits are ideal. We use the Biosnacky 3 tier Germinator. After the first go, it becomes second nature and is cheaper than buying fresh sprouts - you simply water the seeds and watch them grow. Use the sprouts on salads, in stir frys, in smoothies, soups or just as a snack on their own!
